APPLYING FOR A MORTGAGE

Now that you've done your home work you are ready to apply for your mortgage. Applying for a mortgage normally requires certain documentation. The following minimum documentation should be readily available when you sit down with your lender:

1. Last two years W-2's and tax returns and 30-90 days of your most recent paycheck stubs.

2. Last three months of bank, stock and asset statements.

3. Copies of both front and back of your last twelve cancelled checks for mortgage or rent.

4.Picture ID.

5. Last two years of completed personal and business tax forms.

6. Year to date profit and loss financial statements.

7. Certificate of eligibility if using VA.

8. DD Form 214 if using VA.

By having these documents readily available when applying for a mortgage the process should go a lot smoother.

NOTE: With the recent changing of the lending criteria additional documentation may be required.
